San BartoloméSan Bartolomé lies just south of the mountains in the centre of the island. So when the weather in the centre and north is not so great, this is usually a safe place to go. When approaching it, we saw a rainbow, a good sign. Of course the Santa Claus climbing ladders at almost every house, bringing presents, is also nice.

From San Bartolomé you can make some nice walks. We also
met some people who tried to do the same route by bike, but that
evidently took some exercise.

El Carrizal |
![]() Nobody knows where El Carrizal lies, and that is because there is not much to do. When you start at Roque Bentaiga, you soon walk in places where only some locals went before. There are a few small villages with a church and a café. Usually both of them are closed, so you better bring your own drinks and food. |

But it is really great out here, with views to the sea in the south and of the mountains just a bit north. |
