Completely different from the other places at the coast is El Cotillo. There are (still) hardly any hotels, but there are some nice beaches and a small harbour. At the harbour there are a few restaurants, one of them with hammocks for a more relaxed lunch. A good place for a daytrip. |

| The harbour itself is filled with small boats.
The entrance to the harbour looks extremely dangerous, with enormous waves and
sharp rocks. They say that at the beaches of El Cotillo the same amount of
surfing gear is destroyed as in the rest of the world altogether.

| A bit north of El Cotillo you find the lighthouse. The old one is still standing next to the new one. |
