| Around the Caldera |

The shape of La Palma resembles a question mark, with a rim of mountains and volcanoes around the volcanic crater 'Caldera'. Often you will drive through the clouds before reaching the sunny rim. |

From the rim you can see other islands. The Pico de Teide at Tenerife is easy to spot, more to the south you can sometimes see Gomera and El Hierro. |
|
The rim is a visit worth when you like beautiful pictures of rocks and when you like to have a broad view. The view on La Plama is so good, that astronomers from several countries have built their buildings to look at the stars. |
