Wadden Islands

In the top of the Netherlands are 5 islands in the Wadden Sea. One by one we visited them. From southwest to the northeast, they are:

Texel More sheep than tourists	Texel 2007 Another week on Texel	Vlieland The main attraction is the cemetery.
Terschelling Everything in a nutshell	Ameland Nature and characteristic villages.	Schiermonnikoog Have you ever seen so many bicycles?

East of Schiermonnikoog you can find another island, deserted by all but a birdwatcher: Rottumeroog. Simonszand, also visible on the map above, is not an island but a sandbank. Further to the northeast are several German and Danish Wadden islands. We haven't included those in this page.
