Hjo (pronounced "you") is a small town along the Vättern, one of the big lakes in Sweden. In Hjo most houses are still of wood. Most towns today have stone houses because of the risk of fire. With the biggest factory of matches in neigbourhood, you admire the courage of this people.

A bridge in the park

This is a picture of the park in Hjo.

In the harbour of Hjo you can board the steamer for a trip over the lake.

The toilets are not here because the houses in Hjo don't have a toilet. We arrived in Hjo the day before the cycle race around the Vättern-lake.

Another contest you can visit in Hjo is the World Championship Stone and Seed Spitting.
