One of the sites not to miss in Madrid is the Museo del Prado. This construction is not to turn the museum into a museum of Modern Art, but is for maintenance purposes.

If you prefer modern art, you better visit the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum, which has some Miró's, or the Mueso de la Escultura Abstracta, with work by some of Spain's better known modern sculptors.

This lion is very close to the hotel where a very large crowd of 13-year-old girls were waiting for a glimpse of their idols: the Backstreet Boys. Our estimate of how many 13-year-old Spanish girls were present in this street: probably all of them.

This impressive building is the palace of the king, but probably there isn't always a crowd in front of it. We have absolutely no idea what was going on here; maybe those Backstreet Boys again.

Tired of walking and culture, the park offers boating, fortune-tellers, palm-readers, ice-cream parlors and shadow under the trees.
